Will Dr. Carter still be taking insurance?
Yes. Insurance will be taken for all medically necessary visits and tests. The annual fee covers wellness visits, including the annual wellness exam, and in-depth discussions. Medicare and insurers require that co-pays and deductibles be collected when treating established diseases.
Why is Dr. Carter making this change?
Dr. Carter wishes to be able to spend more time with his patients and focus on preventing disease and not just treating a variety of diseases. Also, he would like to be able to offer routine wellness exams, which will enable him to give specific guidance to his patients. These wellness exams are not covered by Medicare or other insurance plans.
How Much Is the annual fee?
The annual fee is $4000. payable at sign-up in one payment, or monthly. For patients where the spouse has also seen Dr. Carter, there is a 50% discount on one of the members.
It’s best to sign up sooner rather than later. Dr. Carter will be limiting the private practice to just a few hundred patients; when this threshold is met the practice will be closed, and a waiting list will be formed.
Can I cancel my Membership?
There is a three-month minimum for the membership; after the first three (3) months of the Patient’s membership, the patient is permitted to terminate this Agreement with thirty (30) days prior written notice.
Will Dr. Carter refer me to another cardiologist?
Yes, if you decide not to join the private, Dr. Carter has established cardiologists whom he will refer you to.

What will accessing Dr. Carter be like?
Under the private practice model, you will have access to Dr. Carter outside of normal office hours. In the event of an emergency, it is essential to call 911. For office appointments, you will be seen upon request either the same day or the next day, depending on the urgency of your need.
So that your cardiology care is unhurried, focused on the prevention of disease and best health practices, based on your individual wellness exam. Also, to have enhanced access to Dr. Carter and his staff with same-day or next-day appointments.
